music-on-the-hill-1Music on the Hill (MOTH) celebrates its first birthday on Friday 4 September.

This community-focused music event, founded through the hard work of local Red Hill music lovers Robin Griffiths and Anthony Egan, had it’s first show in September 2014.

MOTH provides an intimate music experience for real music lovers.  The sound quality is good, the crowd is all ages and the price is outstandingly good value at $25/ea for non-members.

music-on-the-hill-2The organisers have also taken care of guests by expanding the food, wine and cheese offerings available at the event.  So you can eat and watch or you can head to the “after party” for dinner at The Long Table (http://www.thelongtable.com.au)

Since launch, the event has grown in reputation with established artists requesting to play in front of the music-loving MOTH audience in the intimate atmosphere at the Red Hill Pavilion.

Singer songwriters that have played MOTH over the first twelve months include Rob Snarski, Lisa Miller, Charles Jenkins, The Little Stevies, Melody Pool and Van Walker. Fraser A Gorman and Shane Nicholson have recently launched new albums at MOTH.

The first birthday gig will feature several ‘alumni’ artists that have graced the MOTH stage in its first year.  They will be donating their time for this fund-raising event to help buy badly-needed equipment and also for an initiative to help local music students.  Tickets to this event are available for purchase but you better be quick as this celebration will sell out:  http://www.musiconthehill.com.au/buy-ticket

music-on-the-hill-3As MOTH is committed to showcasing local artists, Peninsula singer songwriters will continue to kick the night off at 7.30pm.

MOTH is hosted by the Red Hill sports clubs and takes place on the first Friday of every month with all proceeds going to the artists and hiring of equipment.
